The IntruShield 2700 sensor (the I-2700) is equipped with six fast Ethernet ports (or interfaces) and GBIC slots, and can monitor up to 600 Mbps of aggregated traffic. The six fast Ethernet ports can be used to monitor up to three 10/100 Mbps Ethernet segments in full duplex mode (tap or in-line), six segments in half-duplex mode (monitoring SPAN ports or hubs), or combination of full and half duplex links. The sensor can monitor in sniffing mode (on full or half-duplex links) on some of its interfaces while monitoring in in-line mode on others.
